ThinLinc

Remote access to departmental computing facilities

The departmental thinlinc service allows you to get remote access to Windows/Linux desktops and applications. In order to use the service you will need to download and install the thinlinc client for your platform.

Downloads

If you are using a Windows PC you can download a client that has been preconfigured to use our service:

If you are using a MacOS or Linux PC, you will need to download the client from thinlinc and manually configure it:

Using

Run the thinlinc client and connect to thinlinc.ee.ucl.ac.uk

You will then be presented with a list of applications or desktops that you can connect to. Select the application/desktop and click on the "start" button to run that application or connect to the remote desktop.

Please make sure that you quit the application you are using via Thinlinc, or logout of the desktop you are connected to, before you quit the ThinLinc client. Just closing the client will leave the application/desktop running on the server, using up server resources and thinlinc licences.
