Mount Home Directory on local PC
You can only map your network home directory on your local PC if you are connected to Eduroam at UCL, or to the UCL VPN
Windows
- Open the File Explorer, right click on "This PC" and choose to "Map network drive...". (On Windows 11 you may need to select "show more options")
- Choose a drive letter and enter the path as
\\homes.ee.ucl.ac.uk\userid
(where you replace "userid" with your UCL userid. If you use an older legacy userid for accessing departmental IT resources you will need to use that userid). - Tick the option to "Connect using different credentials" and then click on "Finish".
- You should be prompted to login. Make sure you login as "EE\userid" with your usual UCL Password
Mac
- Click on "Go" >> "Connect to server"
- Enter the server address as:
smb://homes.ee.ucl.ac.uk/userid
(where you replace "userid" with your UCL userid. If you use an older legacy userid for accessing departmental IT resources you will need to use that userid). - Click on "Connect"
- Login as "EE\userid" with your usual UCL password.
