Computers

There are 66 computers in the lab teaching lab, all are fully networked and installed with Microsoft Windows10 pro 64bit.

Via these computers you can access the internet and have access to a whole range of electronics and design software such as Microsoft Office, Matlab, Labview, MPLAB, AVR Studio, Arduino, TI Code Composer Studio, Energia, Diptrace, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, VPI photonics, CST, etc.

These computers are not part of the UCL campus system and can only be used be departmental staff and students. You can logon using your usual UCL userid and password.

If you require any hardware or software for projects to be installed you must talk to us first, we may have to redirect you to the departmental IT support team.

Printing

There is a multi function printer in the teaching laboratory (name : vm-canon) that you can use to print, scan, email, or photocopy your work. This printer will need setting up on your account before use

if vm-canon is not available goto the start menu and type in the run\search box  "\\vm-canon". A  folder will open. Double click the icon "canon secure" and wait for printer to install.

NOTE:

If you record experiment results and scope traces on the computers print them out ASAP.  Don't wait till the end of the session or you will not have time to put them in your lab book.

If the printer runs out of paper or toner it can be requested from the IT support team in room 604.
